Position Overview:

The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated Clinical Faculty Member specializing in Pediatric Cardiology. This full-time role is situated within the esteemed Department of Pediatrics, focusing on the management of critically ill pediatric cardiac patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the attending physician for critically ill and step-down pediatric cardiac patients, including those experiencing heart failure or requiring mechanical circulatory support.
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring pediatric critical care and cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare personnel.
  • Participate in research initiatives in both basic science and clinical fields, fostering an environment of academic inquiry.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practice guidelines and protocols, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Lead quality improvement projects and care process initiatives, enhancing the overall healthcare delivery system.
  • Involve in simulation-based training to improve team performance and clinical skills.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree is mandatory.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics is required.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Critical Care, with a minimum of 12 months of formal advanced clinical training in cardiac intensive care medicine.
  • Eligibility for a Florida medical license is essential.
