Job Summary

This is a full-time faculty position at an open rank within the Department of Pediatrics at The University of Miami. The appointed individual will serve as the attending physician responsible for the care of critically ill and step-down pediatric cardiac patients, including those with heart failure or on mechanical circulatory support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (CICU)
  • Teach and mentor pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other unit-based personnel
  • Pursue research interests in basic science or clinical fields, with opportunities for collaboration and funding
  • Participate in quality improvement and care process initiatives, leading to improved patient outcomes and unit efficiency
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practice plans and protocols, and engage in simulation-based team performance and skills enhancement activities
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree required
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics
  • Board-certified or eligible in pediatric cardiology or pediatric critical care with formal advanced clinical training in cardiac intensive care medicine (minimum of 12 months)
  • Florida medical license (or eligibility)
