Position Overview

This role focuses on the critical analysis and development of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Transaction Monitoring rules, leveraging extensive data analysis and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new AML Transaction Monitoring rules informed by comprehensive data analysis and stakeholder insights.
  • Enhance existing Transaction Monitoring rules through ATL/BTL analysis and direct engagement with downstream users.
  • Utilize model analysis and insights to effectively identify and minimize false positive rates.
  • Generate ongoing and ad hoc reports to evaluate rule performance and outcomes.
  • Conduct additional analyses and reviews related to Transaction Monitoring as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in applying emerging AML typologies, analytics, and controls swiftly to the transaction monitoring framework.
  • Experience in overseeing AML testing and quality assurance to support new transaction monitoring controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks independently while being a collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • In-depth knowledge of BSA laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, as well as international AML/CFT standards.
  • Background in federal law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or financial intelligence units, with 3-5 years of BSA/AML experience.
  • Strong understanding of risk indicators associated with money laundering and terrorist financing, with the capability to adjust processes to mitigate these risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and investigative research capabilities.
  • Ability to draft policies, procedures, and management reports effectively.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), including proficiency in pivot tables.
  • Capacity to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field; law degree or equivalent banking education preferred.
  • Experience with BSA transaction monitoring or case management applications and related analytics.
  • Mandatory proficiency in SQL and Tableau.
  • Preferred certifications include Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, Financial Crimes Specialist, or Certified Fraud Examiner.
