Job Overview

Position Title: Strategic Financial Analyst

Overview: We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Strategic Financial Analyst to enhance our organization's financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions. This position requires the development of financial models, evaluation of financial performance, and the provision of insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning. The successful candidate will possess robust analytical capabilities, a comprehensive understanding of financial principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and sustain financial models to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Examine financial performance metrics, including revenue, costs, and profitability, to pinpoint trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Engage with department leaders and management to collect financial data and offer guidance on budgeting and forecasting methodologies.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analyses and performance indicators.
  • Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity assessments to evaluate the financial implications of diverse business strategies and decisions.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the annual budget and periodic reforecasts, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver insights and recommendations to optimize financial results.
  • Support strategic planning efforts by providing financial analysis and recommendations to executive management.
  • Remain informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes that may influence financial planning and analysis.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline (CFA, CPA, or advanced finance certification preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Strategic Financial Analyst or in a comparable FP&A role, with a solid history of financial modeling and analysis.
  • Expertise in financial analysis tools and software, including Excel, financial modeling platforms, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the capability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and best practices in financial planning and analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and consistency in financial reporting and modeling.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how financial planning aligns with organizational strategy.
