Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Well-being Consultant to join our team at Hawaii Medical Service Association. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing tactical workplace well-being plans for employer groups, utilizing industry, national, and state best practices to increase employee participation and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tactical Activities
    • Develop and implement comprehensive well-being plans for employer groups, incorporating industry best practices and national standards.
    • Conduct training and seminars for employer groups' administrators, members, leaders, and decision-makers, providing education on HMSA's health and well-being programs.
    • Deliver employee health and well-being presentations, assessments, and screenings, as well as support Health/Wellness fairs and related events at employer sites.
    • Employ exceptional selling skills to promote HMSA's health and well-being plan benefits, tools, resources, and services to existing and potential members.
    • Assist with open enrollment sessions and provide support to Health Plan Advisors as needed.
    • Lead, participate, and facilitate meetings with employers' wellness managers and committee members to ensure successful event implementation.
    • Coordinate staffing and tasks for all deliverables with team members and other HMSA departments, vendors, and stakeholders.
    • Provide reporting and outcomes measurement to the Account Team and internal stakeholders.
    • Respond to members' questions regarding plan benefits and provisions, resolving complaints as necessary.
    • Learns and understands the content of plan benefits and health and well-being materials, assisting with material updates and distribution.
  • Strategic Activities
    • Participate in strategic planning sessions, analyzing reporting data and providing insights to support business objectives.
    • Manage internal and external customer relationships, participating in strategic planning and evaluation sessions with partner Business Teams.
    • Assist with the development of new presentations to communicate new strategies and business objectives to support shared goals and objectives.
    • Deliver reports, providing insights and recommendations for future action plans.
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree and three years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • One year of experience in a teaching, training, sales, marketing, health promotions, project management, or related position.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent planning, coordination, and organization skills.
    • Strong decision-making and problem analysis skills.
    • Strong customer servicing skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Valid driver's license and access to an automobile with current license, registration, and no-fault insurance.
    • Active license with the state of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or pass all four sections of the state licensing examination within three months of hire date.
