Job Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II will perform all types of pediatric sleep apnea testing within the scope of practice. Conducts baseline oxygen studies, PAP, NPPV, Tracheostomy- Home Ventilator initiation and titration studies. The Respiratory Care Practitioner II, under direct supervision, conducts patient assessments, assists with the development of the plan of care, provides and evaluates general, basic patient care with assistance to an assigned group of patients according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Conducts patient assessments and develops plans of care

Requirements:

2+ years acute and critical care experience as an RCP in pediatric preferred
Experienced in conducting sleep studies required
Broad knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures
Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care
RCP license from the state of California
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC
Sleep Disorder Specialist or Registered Polysomnography Technician Certification preferred by NBRC

Pay Scale Information:

$68,432.00-$117,926.00
