The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center – South Campus is a state-operated psychiatric facility catering to children under eighteen years of age. Located on a spacious campus, the center offers comprehensive support to youth facing severe mental health challenges and related behavioral issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct utilization assessments to determine suitable care levels and patient stay durations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement protocols for utilization reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to mental health services.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff regarding utilization review processes.
  • Prepare analytical reports and visual data representations to monitor performance metrics.

Position Details

  • Full-time commitment, 40 hours weekly
  • First Shift schedule
  • Monday through Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Albert J. Solnit Children's Center – South Campus

Selection Process

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for a comprehensive range of duties involving the evaluation and review of healthcare delivery systems, focusing on promoting cost-effective quality care in alignment with relevant federal and state regulations.


Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
  • Understanding of applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to assess patient care needs effectively.

Minimum Requirements

Three years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse, with at least one year in a relevant healthcare setting.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in quality assurance, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reporting tools.
  • Experience in conducting compliance audits.
  • Experience in staff training and education.

Special Requirements

  • Must hold and maintain a Registered Professional Nurse license in Connecticut.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
