Quality Assurance Validation Specialist (Contract)

Compensation: $90 per hour

Contract Duration: 3 months

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Flexible hours - Full-Time)

Note: Candidates must be local and willing to commute to the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement XML structures that encapsulate product-specific data to facilitate autonomous testing and regression processes.
  1. Current data is stored in spreadsheet formats and will need to be reorganized into multiple XML files for improved management and adaptability.
  2. This data includes specifications related to management interfaces, product details, customer requirements, signal integrity, and mechanical attributes.
  • Create a software graphical user interface (GUI) for the generation, modification, and deployment of XML files, as well as for producing binary files for production software (using Python/C#).
  1. Enables a Product Development Engineer to update a limited range of registers and release updates without requiring the involvement of the AEC team.
  2. Grants the AEC team comprehensive read/write access to all registers.
  • Revise existing production software to interpret generated binaries for hardware programming (using VB).
  1. Current software is designed to interpret spreadsheet data.
  • Establish JIRA workflows and automation to monitor testing and regression testing processes, including the initiation and termination of tests based on task information and associated XML files.
  1. Facilitates automatic transitions of tasks between states in JIRA.
  2. Automatically generates sub-tasks.
  3. Tracks changes in tasks and transitions based on predefined conditions.
  4. Triggers tests in internal testing frameworks and other equipment as specified in XML files.
  • Develop an automated CI/CD testing framework based on selected hardware, activated by code commits.
  1. Aims to enhance bug detection and validation through automated testing of code upon commits.
  2. Conducts a subset of regression tests, which must pass on a per pull request basis.
  • Formulate a release and regression testing strategy based on selected hardware, as outlined in JIRA workflows, which includes testing high-speed modules in developed test systems and associated internal systems.
  1. This is intended to scale the current regression testing framework.
  2. May require converting existing Python regression test scripts to function within a network switch.
  • Implement a method to verify the proper configuration of production files.
  1. Test each component within a release to ensure successful programming.
  • Ensure that cables operate as intended based on programming specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in high-speed test engineering.
  • Proficient with high-speed testing and networking equipment.
  • Deep understanding of high-speed test system architecture, including system diagramming, test software, hardware assembly, and validation processes.
  • Familiarity with XML, Python, VB, and C#.
  • Experience in test equipment automation and scripting.
  • Proficient in using GIT, GitLab, Bitbucket, and JIRA, along with scripting tools using Python, REST APIs, and webhooks.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret test data and identify solutions for issues.
  • Experience in project leadership across design, development, and manufacturing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a global environment, accommodating various time zones, fluent in English, and capable of collaborating across different regions.
  • Highly motivated, quick learner, and able to work independently.
