Behavior Specialist

Reports To

Program Director/Clinical Director

Position Summary

The Behavior Specialist delivers clinically focused behavioral support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health conditions. This role involves close collaboration with our clinical, programmatic, residential, and day support teams to create comprehensive behavioral treatment plans that take into account the thoughts, emotions, and actions of our participants within a relational and systematic framework. This holistic approach necessitates active participation in a multidisciplinary team and the training of staff, families, and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) for all clients.
  • Develop and Maintain Behavioral Support Plans.
  • Perform Data Collection and Analysis.
  • Provide Training and Modeling for Staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.
  • Subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance, if applicable.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle required.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based.

Physical Requirements

Must be capable of sitting, standing, and moving as necessary to perform job duties.

Lifting Requirements

  • Light: exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg control requires force greater than sedentary, but the worker remains seated for the majority of the time.
