Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Recovery Support Specialist to join our team at PMHCC, Inc. As a key member of our Behavioral Health and Wellness team, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered peer support services to adults with behavioral health and wellness challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend community meetings and develop targeted partnerships to support individuals in recovery.
  • Assist individuals in identifying recovery and wellness-related resources within the community.
  • Identify barriers and provide support to individuals in accessing community resources.
  • Participate in planning and implementing targeted system-wide activities and initiatives.
  • Provide information on community agencies and supports, and aid in accessing them.
  • Make recommendations to supervisors regarding community needs.
  • Participate in training and in-service opportunities to enhance knowledge of DBHIDS and wellness and behavioral health resources.
  • Organize and maintain documentation of encounters, and prepare outreach materials as needed.
  • Present at workshops and events in the community, and coordinate community outreach and engagement activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Current certification as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS), or Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW) preferred but not required.
  • One year of full-time volunteer or paid employment, or 2000 hours of part-time volunteer or paid employment providing peer support to individuals and families with behavioral health challenges.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and community engagement experience determined to be acceptable.
