Job Overview

Position Summary
The Environmental Field Chemist is tasked with ensuring the secure collection and transportation of waste materials to and from client sites. Drawing on educational background and practical experience, this role acts as a key resource in the classification and packaging of chemical waste in accordance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating a straight truck for transportation to various client locations.
  • Maintaining a driving log that complies with state and federal guidelines.
  • Sorting and categorizing hazardous and non-hazardous waste based on established profiles.
  • Preparing, labeling, and documenting waste for transport.
  • Conducting data entry and managing inventory systems.
  • Staying in communication with supervisors via phone or radio for pick-up directives.
  • Loading and unloading containers of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Inspecting vehicle equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and coolant levels.
  • Securing waste for safe transportation.
  • Assisting in the orientation and training of new Environmental Field Chemists.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.

Supervisory Role
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university in a relevant field; or equivalent experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience that meets these criteria.

Security Clearance
This position necessitates obtaining government security clearance as a condition of employment.
