Environmental Geologist

Plexus Scientific Corporation is seeking an Early Career Environmental Geologist to support a specific project located in the Detroit Michigan area.

This role will involve working in the field to investigate and cleanup contaminated sites under federal, state, or other cleanup programs such as CERCLA, RCRA, and/or state UST programs.

• Logging soil borings and identifying soil types in accordance with the unified soil classification system (USCS)
• Overseeing and documenting the installation of groundwater monitoring wells
• Knowledge of and experience with field equipment used in support of field investigation of soil and groundwater contamination
• Ability to work successfully independently, as a member of a team, and as a leader
• Ability to lift/carry equipment needed to perform field investigations
• Willingness to travel within the continental United States
• Ability to pass and maintain a detailed background check and be granted access to US federal facilities

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field with specific training in Geology
• 2+ Years of field experience related to the investigation and cleanup of contaminated sites
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite and industry-related software
