Job Summary:

HCA Physician Services is actively seeking a qualified Associate Pathologist to join our esteemed team. This role is based in a prominent healthcare facility in Florida, known for its commitment to exceptional patient care.

Our organization comprises a network of over 200 board-certified pathologists who provide comprehensive services to numerous healthcare facilities and commercial clients. Our physician partners play a crucial role in our success, and we collaborate closely to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • Proficient in the full spectrum of AP and CP for community hospital settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Possession of an active Florida Medical License or eligibility to obtain one

Pathology Volume and Cases:
  • Annual surgical case volume – approximately 4,000
  • Non-gyn cytology cases – around 1,000 per year
  • Procedures including frozen sections and rapid on-site assessments – fewer than 10 weekly
  • Peripheral smear evaluations – about 5 weekly
  • Blood bank reviews – typically less than 1 weekly
  • The facility has around 250 beds and handles a diverse range of anatomic pathology specimens, including breast, colorectal, thoracic, urologic, and bone marrow specimens.
  • The practice consists of two pathologists who also provide remote coverage for surgical and cytology volumes at a nearby hospital.
  • Oversight of laboratories within associated Free Standing Emergency Departments is also part of the role.
