Addiction Medicine Specialist

At Kaiser Permanente, we are seeking a skilled Addiction Medicine Therapist to provide Chemical Dependency services and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, significant others of CD patients, and families under indirect supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and triage patient calls for information, treatment services, and general CD advice, responding to and handling crisis calls appropriately.
- Conduct higher-level assessments, including evaluations for non-CD and MH diagnoses, danger to self or others, and non-CD crisis evaluations.
- Perform intake and psychosocial assessments, developing and presenting treatment plans to the CDRP/S treatment team for recommendations, revisions, and approval.
- Participate in clinical case conferences and conduct chemical dependency-focused educational lectures.
- Provide general chemical dependency counseling, including individual and group counseling services, as well as Adolescent, Significant Other, Family, and Multi-Family therapy as assigned.
- Offer case management services, including resource and referral coordination, and may perform mentor functions or clinical direction to CDRP/S Counselors I and II, student interns, licensure candidates, and Alcohol or Drug Certificate candidates.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of post-graduate relevant supervised addiction medicine therapy experience within the last five years required.
- Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health.
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California)
- Experience with adolescents preferred.
- Up to 2 evenings and 1 Saturday per week.
