About the Role:
The Radiological Medicine Specialist is responsible for administering radiopharmaceuticals or radiation through intravenous methods to identify or treat medical conditions, utilizing advanced radioisotope technology. This role includes performing diagnostic imaging procedures and ensuring the quality control of all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes, ensuring accurate dosage calculations.
- Conduct screening procedures to assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Maintain meticulous documentation regarding the use of radioactive materials in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Coordinate patient flow and provide necessary preparation instructions to patients.
- Collaborate with senior staff for guidance on complex issues.
- Perform additional duties as required to support departmental operations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a diploma or certificate program from an accredited Nuclear Medicine institution is required.
- A Bachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- State Nuclear Medicine License is mandatory in specific regions.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.
- Venipuncture certification is necessary.
