Business Development Representative

Job Summary:
The Business Account Executive is responsible for selling primary and ancillary communications solutions to small- and medium-sized businesses within a specified territory. This role requires a strong understanding of communications technologies and services, with an emphasis on telephone and Internet fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sell primary and ancillary communications solutions to small- and medium-sized businesses within a specified territory.
- Develop and implement a Territory Plan to expand the customer base within the assigned territory.
- Generate all sales leads through various prospecting tactics and work every lead from initial contact to sale.
- Place orders through order management software and work with the Account Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely submission of sales orders, contracts, billing forms, and sales reports.
- Hand off customer service and non-sales related client inquiries to the Customer Service department and focus on selling.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within the assigned territory.
- Meet and exceed performance standards as defined by the department Standards of Performance (SOP) and the Spectrum Way Sales Model.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Outside sales experience in a high-transaction, short-closing cycle model preferred.
- Business-to-business sales experience preferred.
- Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets preferred.
Working Conditions:
Office environment and/or outside environment with exposure to inclement weather. Exposure to moderate noise levels.
Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges from $47,800.00 to $94,900.00. The actual compensation offered will consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This position has a commission earnings target starting at $54,000.
