Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have recent experience as a heavy user of word processing software, digital signature software, and managing a matrix of deliverables for multiple attorneys.

This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule. The pay is $24-31/hr. depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and store legal documents like briefs, case files, and court submissions
  • Organize and maintain files, and track the location of documents
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues, making legal jargon accessible
  • Manage cases, including client intake and billing
  • Schedule management: Keep attorneys' schedules organized
  • Evidence organization: Collect, examine, and organize evidence for case preparation
  • Correspondence: Draft and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements:

  • Recent experience as heavy user with word processing software creating and managing legal documents
  • Recent experience as heavy user with digital signature softwares
  • Experience managing a matrix of deliverables for multiple attorneys.
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
  • Strong data entry and computer skills
  • Professional dress is required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Confidentiality and Supervision:

This position will be handling confidential personal data and information that belongs to PrideStaff's clients and candidates including birthdates, social security numbers, hiring fees, and confidential hiring paperwork.

This position has minimal supervision. The employee will meet periodically as needed with their supervisor to go over pertinent goals and assignments.

The employee does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Basic Working Conditions:

The employee must have their own method of dependable transportation and work full time during normal business hours Monday through Friday. Overtime and work on weekends may be needed. The employee must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Although this position will be in an office environment, at times this position may be required to lift over 25 lbs. The employee will be required to have the ability to stoop, kneel and handle objects for filing.
