Curtiss-Wright is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team in New London. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling ruggedized mechanical enclosures and sub-assembly cabinets for the defense industry.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble mechanical parts and sub-assemblies using hand or power tools and related equipment.
- Operate press brake to assemble sheets and automatic fastener machine to secure lining to sidewalls.
- Perform carpenter-related work and operate both stationary and moving overhead cranes.
- Install lights and wiring, and operate forklift as required.
- Perform other related duties as needed by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of Two (2) years professional work experience in a mechanical assembly working environment is required.
- Ability to fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Ability to review the design, drawing and check completeness of rugged electronics enclosures and consoles.
The successful candidate will be required to stand, frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and climb or balance. They will also be required to regularly lift and move 10 pounds, frequently lift and move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds.
