Job Title: Mechanical Systems Technician


LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening for a skilled Mechanical Systems Technician to join our team in the East Haven, CT area, working directly with our client in a state-of-the-art technology organization.


This direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career and take on responsibilities for the integration of an electro-mechanical system, providing hands-on support for machine construction, including mechanical fabrication tasks, system assembly, startup, and testing according to custom schematics of industrial x-ray systems.


Responsibilities:



  1. Install and assemble electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, parts, and components as determined upon schematics
  2. Perform light machining tasks as required per project
  3. Oversee layout and cutting of frames, cabinets, panels, and other related components
  4. Responsible for primary machine mechanical assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting
  5. Perform tasks in accordance with US and European standards, defined quality standards, and all related organizational design and safety standards
  6. Assist with wiring of custom systems, including electrical panel building, machine wiring, pulling wire, terminating, bending conduit, wiring motors, and system startup and testing, where and when possible and applicable
  7. Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot/repair, and/or test systems (approximately 25%)
  8. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including but not limited to clean-up, light maintenance duties, material movement, inventory counts, crate/pallet building, furniture assembly, and forklift operation

Requirements:



  1. HS Diploma with some technical schooling or training
  2. Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting in the integration and fabrication of complex electro-mechanical systems
  3. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation in AutoCAD
  4. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US
  5. Must have a valid and current US Drivers License
  6. Must be willing and able to successfully pass a complete background check and drug test
  7. Must be available and willing to work extended hours and weekends
  8. Prior experience working with BOMs and/or computerized MRP or ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics
  9. Prior experience and solid understanding of motion control design, PLC/PC programming, and distributed control theory highly preferred
  10. Working knowledge and experience with ISO and/or NQA-1 quality standards and procedures

This posting represents a typical role we place with our clients. Depending on the client, location, and role, the pay range is estimated to be $20-$28 an hour, and benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, and PTO.
