Nuclear Power Plant Systems Design Engineer

This is a senior level mechanical engineering position that will provide you with a variety of interesting and challenging responsibilities in the nuclear power industry. As a Nuclear Power Plant Systems Design Engineer, you will be involved in the design, preparation, and review of modification packages, functional mechanical drawings, and engineering analyses to support the operation of nuclear power plants. You will also be responsible for technical specifications, procurement documents, and vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment. This is an on-site field support position located in Waterford, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program, a minimum of 5 years of experience in the power industry, and a working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants. A PE license is beneficial but not required. Key Responsibilities:

Design, prepare, and review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants

Develop functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems

Conduct engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems

Create technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment

Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment

Participate in studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution

Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the power industry

Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants

PE license is beneficial but not required
