Job Summary

The Great Lakes Water Authority is seeking an Electrical Instrumentation Control Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Instrumentation Control Technician, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment at our water and wastewater treatment plants. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment, including control systems and sensors.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including calibration and adjustment of instruments.
  • Assist with the installation and testing of new equipment and systems.
  • Read and interpret plans, schematics, and technical documents to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the plant.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Completion of an approved instrumentation or electrical apprenticeship program.
  • International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician Certification Level 1 preferred.
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain.
