Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Controls Technician to join our team at Process Controls & Instrumentation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our control systems and instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and Control Systems: Monitor gauges, measure pump, vacuum, instrument, and service air pressure, hydraulics, and suction and discharge elevation.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Troubleshoot any problems that may arise with our control systems and instrumentation.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform direct startup and stopping of pumps in accordance with the load demand, and perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate Operations: Coordinate control systems functions with other systems operations staff, and apply the capabilities, application, policies, procedures, and protocol of process control system administration.
  • Accumulate Data: Accumulate process operation data and use historical and current process trends to initiate process control changes as conditions warrant.
  • Generate Reports: Enter data to generate a daily report and operating logs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate Degree in the related operational or functional fields, such as Engineering, Chemistry, Accounting, or Human Resources from an accredited college or university; or a combination of related work experience and education.
  • Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the Services. The Technician/Operator shall have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, work in confined spaces, elevated locations, and descend underground, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, walk, stand, or work for long periods of time, demonstrate normal color perception, hear audible alarms, and visually inspect equipment and processes at any time of day or night.
Working Conditions

The Technician/Operator position may require the ability to work in all conditions involving exposure to outside elements and seasonal weather. Services may also be performed in an office or field environment, at remote sites, or locations within the GLWA service area.

The Technician/Operator shall have a valid Michigan driver's license and the ability to drive a Consultant-provided motor vehicle on all terrains.
