Job OverviewThe Wellness Associate will report to the Wellness Director and Wellness Manager, providing essential services and care to each resident according to their individual service plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as needed.
- Monitor each resident's general physical and mental health, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Help coordinate shift coverage during unexpected absences.
- Support the Wellness Director in developing and maintaining staff assignments.
- Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to resident emergencies, providing first aid and arranging for appropriate medical follow-up.
- Help residents keep their living spaces clean and organized.
- Promptly attend to resident needs and requests for assistance.
- Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as directed.
- Support meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participate in activity programs as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.
- Participate in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all emergency procedures.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a resident's physical or mental health.
- Current State Nurse's Aide registration is preferred but not required.
- Experience and a passion for working with seniors are essential.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
- Physically capable of bending and reaching.
- Able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Capable of standing for extended periods.
- May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Willingness to work shifts other than the one for which hired.
- May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste and diseases.
- May encounter emotionally distressed residents due to mental health conditions.
- Background checks may be required.
- May be subject to random drug testing during employment.
- May have their image used in community advertising.
- May be recorded by devices installed by families in residents' apartments.
