Job Summary:

The City of Livonia, MI is seeking a highly skilled Account Clerk III to join our Accounting Division. As a senior clerk, you will work under the guidance of the Director of Finance, Chief Accountant, and General Ledger Accountant II to provide exceptional support in reconciling accounts, providing audit support, handling small claims, and researching variable transaction issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Issue invoices and process payments
  • Maintain accurate records and address resident inquiries
  • Manage contracts related to accounts receivable and notify departments of upcoming contract renewals
  • Organize the city's yearly escheat project and serve as a backup for the Revenue Collections Account Clerk III in bank reconciliation
Requirements:
  • Citizen of the United States or resident alien with the right to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or valid equivalency certificate
  • Minimum of five years of full-time paid bookkeeping or accounting-related experience, or at least four semesters of coursework in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong mathematic, grammar, and Microsoft Excel skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication in oral and written form with ability to maintain positive working relationships
