Position Overview:
The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in collaborating with healthcare professionals, including physicians and clinical staff, to ensure effective patient management and administrative support within a dynamic urgent care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist in treatment procedures.
  • Conduct triage and record vital signs accurately.
  • Gather and document patient medical histories in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality while managing all related documentation.
  • Collect routine laboratory samples, including blood draws and urinalysis.
  • Administer medications and perform non-intravenous injections as required.
  • Initiate IVs, place catheters, and perform splinting under direction.
  • Execute various clinical and laboratory procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Document all medical interventions promptly and accurately in the EMR.
  • Support the Occupational Medicine service line, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of healthcare regulatory standards and ensure adherence.
  • Oversee quality assurance initiatives for laboratory compliance and patient tracking.
  • Uphold HIPAA and OSHA regulations consistently.
  • Perform general administrative tasks and operate medical office equipment.
  • Flexibility to travel to different locations as needed based on operational demands.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in healthcare, preferably in urgent care or emergency settings.
  • Open to training new graduates who demonstrate exceptional potential.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and administration of injections is essential.
  • Strong understanding of clinical practices, medical terminology, and human anatomy.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of sitting, walking, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination are necessary.
  • Occasional lifting of moderate weights may be required.
  • Specific vision capabilities, including close and distance vision, are necessary for the role.
