Job Summary

The Sartori Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing equipment repairs and preventative maintenance throughout our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, pumps, process and sanitary piping, electrical, electronic, and related components.
  • Work Order Management: Complete and communicate work orders to plant and maintenance personnel, and ensure all required documentation is completed.
  • Electronic Component Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electronic components, including RTDs, level sensors, controllers, AC & DC motors, switches, fuses, and other equipment.
  • Refrigeration Equipment Operation: Start up, shut down, and maintain refrigeration equipment.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding repairs to equipment and structural components, and fabricate repair parts or components using machine shop equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, checking stock levels, anticipating needed parts and supplies, and expediting orders.
  • Technical Support: Utilize technical support documents and materials as needed.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean work area, both in the maintenance shop and when completing work in food processing plants.
  • Safety and Compliance: Comply with all company Safety and GMP policies, and immediately report any food safety or quality issues to management or other authorized personnel.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 3-5 years' experience in maintenance or a related field, with training certifications in the areas of the trades or enrolled and pursuing a Maintenance Apprenticeship or Electro-Mech degree.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of maintenance software, including WonderWare, Ladder Logic, and Allen Bradley software; knowledge of welding techniques and equipment; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; basic math skills; ability to read and interpret work-related documents; and ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license required for using company vehicles; certified to operate forklifts.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing. The position requires regular lifting and/or moving objects weighing 25 to 75 pounds, and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds.
