About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer II to join our team at Frontier, Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of telecommunications outside plant design, cable count layout, and capacities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer outside plant projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform field staking and proactive review of outside plant facilities to identify necessary upgrades and enhancements.
  • Communicate with state, county, city, and national indices to gather information on planned projects that involve growth and changes.
  • Coordinate with all utilities for project design and construction to utilize joint trench.
  • Maintain accurate cable records and updates, and prepare project justifications for approvals.
  • Prepare loop studies, cost estimates, and respond to DOR's as needed.
  • Update records according to As-Builts, and land base into FROGS/Spatial Engineer system.
  • Assist in annual budget design, and perform all other activities related to the needs of the business.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, or a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience related to outside plant, preferable in a local exchange environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of heavy emphasis on outside plant design, cable count layout, and capacities.
  • Solid knowledge of telecommunications outside plant, and ability to participate and lead project teams to achieve team objectives and goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with engineering team, regional managers, vendors, local supervisors, and technicians.
  • Detailed knowledge of outside plant activities, and experience in right of way, private easement, and permitting with local, state, and federal entities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of activity.
What We Offer
  • Salary Range: $67,000 - $93,000
