Role Purpose:
This position is essential for facilitating the successful execution of major manufacturing capacity enhancement projects, primarily focusing on greenfield initiatives.
The selected candidate will assist the Project Principal in establishing and maintaining vital project management systems and tools, ensuring project delivery aligns with defined scope, budget, timeline, and stakeholder expectations. They will ensure consistent implementation of these systems across all workstreams, integrating them within master budgets, timelines, risk management, and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement project management processes, methodologies, and tools specifically for large-scale greenfield food and beverage construction and manufacturing projects.
- Focus on managing timelines, budgets, scope, risks, and procurement effectively.
- Uphold project management standards, tools, and templates to aid project teams in executing successful dairy construction and processing initiatives.
- Provide leadership and support to project managers and workstream leaders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track workstream progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to clarify project requirements, scope, and deliverables, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Act as the central repository for all budget and schedule details related to projects.
- Establish routines and processes to document key project milestones.
- Maintain a risk register and develop mitigation strategies for potential project challenges.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control measures during project execution.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operational teams to ensure project alignment.
- Prepare and present project status reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Conduct audits and report on compliance with project management processes, identifying gaps and implementing improvements.
- Provide solutions to potential delays and cost overruns throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field, along with certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is required. Additional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are advantageous.
- Over 7 years of experience leading Project/Program Management activities in large-scale, highly regulated greenfield projects.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly, and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a solid understanding of project lifecycle, planning, fiscal management, risk management, and resource allocation.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, operations, and best practices, including lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Solid understanding of operational management practices, including supply chain management, logistics, and quality management.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive results through effective communication and negotiation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and decision-making.
- Experience in managing organizational change initiatives and understanding change management principles.
- Familiarity with relevant technical aspects of manufacturing and operations, including industry-specific regulations.
- Knowledge of permitting processes and stakeholder management.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance in relation to greenfield manufacturing site development.
- Demonstrated ability to champion project safety and leadership.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to align project initiatives with overall business strategy.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
