Position: Retail Operations Assistant
Overview: The Retail Operations Assistant is responsible for delivering exceptional service through effective customer engagement, operational tasks at the point of sale (POS), and maintaining merchandising standards that enhance the overall shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage all operational processes at the point of sale to ensure timely service.
- Maintain accuracy in scanning items and processing payments, including managing loyalty program rewards.
- Safeguard cash handling procedures at all times.
- Actively promote the loyalty program and assist in enrolling new members to meet participation goals.
- Inform customers about ongoing promotions to positively influence sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Provide outstanding customer service by embodying the brand's values and offering a welcoming and professional demeanor.
- Execute and uphold merchandising and cleanliness standards in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support the company’s vision of being the preferred health and beauty retailer by embodying and promoting corporate values.
- Stay informed about products, promotions, and events to deliver accurate information to customers.
Required Knowledge:
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Understanding of retail and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) principles, including merchandising and promotions.
- Familiarity with stock management processes.
- Knowledge of excellent customer service practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Preferred experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment.
- Education: Required: Completion of Grade 12. Preferred: Minimum of 50% in Mathematics and English at Grade 12 level.
