Retail Operations Supervisor

Role Overview:
An Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the service, sales, and operational facets of the business to foster an engaging and motivating atmosphere. This involves working collaboratively with team members on operational and aesthetic requirements while focusing on the growth and development of the associate team.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement
- Demonstrates exemplary leadership in embodying the company's core values: to welcome, inspire, inform, and appreciate our clientele.
- Shares insights on product offerings, new arrivals, and market trends to educate and motivate customers in enhancing their living spaces.
- Partners with the leadership team and Artisans to craft an inviting visual presentation that captivates customers.
- Employs technology to ensure a smooth, integrated shopping experience through the execution of all omni-channel services.
Team Leadership & Management
- Actively engages in shaping the store atmosphere and customer experience by promoting a dynamic pace, fostering team positivity, and overseeing daily operational zones.
- Seeks to expand knowledge to become a product and vendor authority; organizes and leads collaborative, educational meetings that boost employee confidence in customer service.
- Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of exceptional talent to strengthen the team.
- Provides timely and constructive feedback to cultivate a culture of accountability and action; prioritizes onboarding and development for new hires to enhance the employee experience.
Visual Merchandising & Business Operations
- Oversees daily operational tasks such as opening and closing procedures, omni-channel processes, and addressing facility or IT concerns.
- Supports visual merchandising efforts including store cleanliness, product display standards, stock maintenance, promotional signage, and markdown execution.
- Adheres to safety protocols, ensures inventory accuracy, minimizes product loss, and upholds company policies to drive store profitability.
Communication & Relationship Building
- Contributes to a culture of inclusivity and prioritizes people; engages with employees at all levels to promote open communication, ensure follow-through, and support the store team.
- Maintains regular communication with leadership to align on store objectives; remains open and responsive to feedback.
- Offers insights regarding customer and employee experiences and relays feedback to the Store Manager.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about the Terrain brand.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
- Familiarity with home décor trends and gardening.
- Flexibility to work varied hours to accommodate store needs.
- Willingness to learn and advance within the organization.
