Job Title: Construction Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Description:

The Construction Quality Assurance Specialist will support power utility projects related to Transmission, Distribution, and Substations with one of the state's largest utilities. Collaborating with engineering and design teams ensures that engineering meets the constructability of projects and improves QA/QC oversight before projects enter the construction phases. The main responsibility of this role is to provide internal auditing services to the design team to ensure projects meet client standards during the construction phase. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, supporting utility-specific construction standards, and maintaining relationships with construction crews and utility operations are key aspects of this position. Traveling to sites to perform QA/QC audits of projects before they go live is also a critical component. This role supports interconnect, O&M, and capital projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support power utility projects related to Transmission, Distribution, and Substations
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure engineering meets the constructability of projects
  • Provide internal auditing services to the design team to ensure projects meet client standards during the construction phase
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support utility-specific construction standards
  • Maintain relationships with construction crews and utility operations
  • Travel to sites to perform QA/QC audits of projects before they go live
  • Support interconnect, O&M, and capital projects

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of construction QA/QC inspection related to power utilities
  • Prior inspection or auditing on construction installs and support with health and safety
  • 5+ years of working with engineering teams on power delivery projects
  • 5+ years of power utility construction background

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Work Site: Fully remote

Work Environment: Mostly remote, hybrid, or in office/client sites depending on where you reside in the Portland, OR area and your preferences.
