The KIPP Oklahoma network includes KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools (grades 5th – 12th) and KIPP OKC Public Schools (grades PreK - 3rd and 6th – 8th), with KIPP OKC expanding one grade each year until it encompasses a full PreK – 8th grade program.

Position Summary

The Intervention Team at KIPP OKC plays a vital role in providing support and services to students with disabilities. In this position, educators will work with KIPPsters in small groups to help them achieve academic progress aligned with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Collaboration with homeroom teachers is essential for curriculum differentiation and the Response to Intervention process.

Instructional Responsiveness & Content Knowledge

  • Design, internalize, and deliver high-quality, engaging lesson plans utilizing provided curriculum resources to address the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Implement educational programs for students with disabilities as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Deliver intervention services to all students through participation in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process, ensuring compliance with legal expectations.
  • Regularly evaluate student work and monitor achievement data to enhance academic performance.
  • Collaborate with lead classroom teachers and staff to interpret students' abilities and disabilities, assisting in classroom intervention strategies and modifying general education curricula as needed.
  • Engage with parents and teachers regularly regarding the educational, social, and personal needs of students.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Student Services to manage cases, maintain special education student files, and complete necessary reports in accordance with state and local policies.
  • Establish authentic relationships with families to partner in ensuring each student's academic success.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
  • Embrace feedback for continuous improvement.

Student Care & Classroom Environment

  • Foster a classroom culture that empowers students, affirms their identities, and cultivates a sense of belonging for all.
  • Implement school-wide and classroom management policies and practices.
  • Create a responsive and inclusive environment for parents and families.

Team Collaboration

  • Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
  • Engage in daily school functions such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Incorporate feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Meet professional obligations with timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is based on the 10-month teacher salary scale.

Employees are eligible for benefits including health, dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short and long-term disability, and participation in Oklahoma Teacher Retirement plans.
