Summary
This position is part of the Army National Guard Units and is designated for a Project Management Coordinator.

This role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and resolving management challenges.

Key Responsibilities
1.

Conducts analysis, coordination, and execution of various special projects and program assignments, leading to effective solutions for management issues.

Independently formulates action plans and proposes viable solutions.

Collaborates with Command staff and Functional Managers to gather and share information, aiding in informed management decisions.

Monitors and evaluates project progress, suggesting modifications as necessary. Prepares comprehensive reports, presentations, and updates on assigned projects and programs.

Facilitates office operations by managing scheduling for appointments, meetings, and briefings that influence future program directions.

Provides critical management insights, advice, and support to Command staff regarding assigned programs and projects.

The incumbent investigates relevant laws and policies, exercising judgment to determine applicable procedures for ongoing projects and tasks.

Analyzes data and assesses program progress, organizing and presenting findings and recommendations through both oral and written communication.

Utilizes graphic design software to create visual data representations and employs database tools for data management. 3.

Acts as a Project Manager for new initiatives assigned by the State.

Responsible for forming project teams, overseeing budgetary requirements throughout the project lifecycle, and guiding teams in identifying objectives, stakeholders, tasks, risks, and milestones.

Determines workload distribution to effectively allocate resources and uses expertise to analyze information for prompt decision-making.

Keeps Command staff informed about project developments.

Establishes and nurtures effective working relationships with partner organizations.

Delivers presentations on project status, achievements, challenges, and resource needs to senior military personnel and civilian counterparts.

Identifies unresolved issues and recommends appropriate actions, while also participating in special initiatives and assignments.

Oversees the performance of assigned personnel, fulfilling supervisory and managerial duties.

Assigns tasks to staff in line with organizational objectives and workload demands.

Interprets and applies governing policies and procedures.

Provides financial guidance and addresses significant operational challenges.

Reviews operational procedures to ensure alignment with management performance goals and advises on areas at risk of underperformance.

Develops or directs the creation of new internal procedures as necessary.

Monitors staff performance, ensuring compliance with production and accuracy standards, and provides feedback on performance evaluations.

Plans and prioritizes work for subordinates, adjusting schedules as needed.

Guides employees on work-related and administrative matters, participates in recruitment processes, and addresses employee grievances.

Identifies training needs and facilitates development opportunities for staff to enhance productivity and quality of work.

Performs additional duties as assigned.


Requirements
Conditions of Employment

Military Grades: E-4/SPC through E-9/SGM and WO1 through CW5 and O-1/2LT through O-5/LTC.

Specialized Experience:

GS-11: Requires 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level or 36 months of relevant experience, education, or training in program or managerial roles.

Experience in policy development, program management, and operational evaluation is essential.

Supervisory Experience:

Experience in leading and managing personnel is required.

Quality of Experience:

Evaluation of experience should focus on the nature of duties performed rather than solely on rank.

Military Requirements:

Must meet AFSC/MOS requirements upon selection and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.

Education:

No educational substitutions for specialized experience at the GS-11 level.

Additional Information:

Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered under the Military Selective Service Act to be eligible for appointment.
