Position Overview

$2500 retention bonus upon hire and every three months over your first year with us

Bethany Home in Brandon is seeking Full-time and Part-time Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Medication Aides to enhance our compassionate and supportive environment. We are hiring for various shifts and provide Evening/Night Weekend Shift Differential Pay. The starting wage for this role is $16.00/hr, with increases based on experience. We also offer paid training for Medication Aides.

As a CNA or Medication Aide, your role will involve delivering medical, emotional, and physical support to residents, ensuring their daily needs are met and helping them achieve the highest possible level of independence. Under the guidance of a professional nurse, you will act as the primary advocate for residents within your assigned neighborhood. All responsibilities will be executed in compliance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations, prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement care plans to provide appropriate services to residents.
  • Assist in creating and updating individual care plans, advocating for resident preferences.
  • Attend to personal hygiene and care needs, including grooming, dining, mobility, and safety.
  • Collaborate with neighborhood team members to fulfill resident needs and preferences.
  • Provide restorative therapy as directed by the Restorative Nurse, following the functional maintenance plan.
  • Maintain cleanliness by making beds daily and changing linens as required.
  • Support residents during dining, assisting with meals and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning of resident areas on scheduled days.
  • Encourage resident participation in social activities and assist with transportation to events.
  • Facilitate activities as directed by the Neighborhood Leader, Nurse, and Activity Director.
  • Promote engagement in activities to stimulate resident interest.
  • Monitor residents and report any changes in behavior or condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Document changes in resident status and communicate needs to the Neighborhood Nurse or Leader.
  • Ensure a safe environment for residents and report any concerns.
  • Assist with laundry tasks as necessary.
  • Encourage resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
  • Organize and manage supplies needed for tasks, reporting any shortages to supervisors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while working with equipment and chemicals.
  • Participate in orientation, mandatory training, and departmental meetings.
  • Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Neighborhood Nurse and Leader.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families.

Qualifications:

CNA certification is preferred for the CNA role, but training will be provided for suitable candidates. Ideal candidates will be nurturing, friendly, and enthusiastic about working with individuals.
