Position Overview

$2500 retention bonus upon hire and every three months over your first year with us

Bethany Home in Brandon is seeking Full-time and Part-time Certified Nursing Assistants or Certified Medication Aides to become integral members of our compassionate team. We are currently hiring for all shifts and offer Evening/Night Weekend Shift Differential Pay. The starting wage for this role is $16.00/hr, with increases based on experience. Paid training for Medication Aides is also available.

As a CNA or Medication Aide, you will deliver medical, emotional, and physical support to residents, ensuring their daily needs are met and helping them achieve the highest possible level of independence. This role is performed under the guidance of a professional nurse, with the CNA or Med Aide acting as the primary advocate for residents within their neighborhood. All tasks are carried out in compliance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the care plan to provide services to residents.
  • Assist in the formulation and updating of each resident's care plan, acting as their closest advocate.
  • Attend to all personal hygiene and care needs of residents, including grooming, dining, mobility, and safety.
  • Collaborate with neighborhood team members to meet the needs and preferences of each resident.
  • Provide restorative therapy under the direction of the Restorative Nurse, following the resident's functional maintenance plan.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms, including making beds and changing linens as necessary.
  • Support residents during dining by serving meals and assisting with eating.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties in resident areas as scheduled.
  • Encourage social interactions and activities among residents.
  • Assist residents with transportation to activities as outlined in their care plans.
  • Engage residents in activities as directed by the Neighborhood Leader, Neighborhood Nurse, and Activity Director.
  • Promote activities enthusiastically to stimulate resident interest.
  • Monitor residents and report any concerns or changes in their condition to the Neighborhood Leader and Neighborhood Nurse.
  • Document changes in resident status, personal needs, and appointments, reporting any urgent needs immediately.
  • Help maintain a safe environment for residents and report any concerns.
  • Assist with resident laundry as required.
  • Encourage resident independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
  • Organize necessary supplies for tasks and communicate needs to supervisors.
  • Practice safety when working with equipment and chemicals.
  • Participate in general orientation and mandatory training sessions.
  • Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Neighborhood Nurse and Neighborhood Leader.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families.

Qualifications:

CNA certification is preferred for the CNA position, but training will be provided to suitable candidates. A successful candidate will be nurturing, friendly, and enthusiastic about working with individuals. Reliable transportation is necessary to ensure quality care for our residents.
