Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transplant Nurse Specialist to join our team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital. As a key member of our cardiovascular care team, you will play a vital role in coordinating transplant-related activities for patients across the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient evaluation, waiting list registration, and patient readiness for deceased donor transplants.
  • Arrange transplant admissions, monitor clinical pathway progression, and provide post-discharge follow-up.
  • Provide patient and family education, professional/peer education, and participate in the development of patient education programs.
  • Maintain 24-hour on-call coverage for organ offers and other transplant needs.
  • Participate in outreach clinics with physicians, recipient selection for placement on the UNOS wait list, and communicate decisions to patients and their nephrologists.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient clinic transplant education, ongoing education, monitoring of labs, and arrange outpatient infusion and radiologic procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Washington Registered Nurse License.
  • Remains up to date on UNOS-OPTN and CMS regulations.
  • 5 years of Acute care nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Clinic Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification.
  • 3 years of Current experience in Cardiology nursing, including transplantation.
