Position Summary:

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) plays a pivotal role in facilitating research initiatives within a designated practice area. This position encompasses essential clinical and administrative functions, including data management and participant tracking, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. The CRC operates autonomously to support Investigator-Initiated studies and various phases of clinical trials, engaging in data analysis and assisting with the preparation of regulatory submissions, program documentation, funding proposals, and related correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate patient eligibility for studies, gathering necessary medical history and health information as dictated by research protocols while maintaining confidentiality and respect.
  2. Extract clinical data from medical records and charts.
  3. Execute clinical and administrative tasks as required by study protocols, including vital signs monitoring, venipuncture, and completion of regulatory documents.
  4. Monitor participant adverse reactions, managing data and clinical follow-ups, and documenting findings appropriately.
  5. Ensure compliance with institutional review board requirements through timely documentation and updates.
  6. Oversee recruitment efforts for studies, including referrals and advertising.
  7. Coordinate patient appointments and liaise with other departments for testing.
  8. Prepare study samples for storage and distribution.
  9. May assist in tracking financial aspects of studies.
  10. Participate in investigator meetings as necessary.
  11. Collaborate with pharmacy for drug maintenance.
  12. Contribute to the development of new research proposals.
  13. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a BA/BS degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Certification in clinical research is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification such as CRCC, CCRA, or CCRP is advantageous.
  • Experience in clinical research with increasing responsibilities is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to adapt to changing responsibilities.
  • Service-oriented with the ability to prioritize client needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects and large volumes of information.
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills as required.
  • Effective communication with diverse stakeholders is essential.
