NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, the Head Nurse will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the quality of care rendered in the WTC EHC.
Key Responsibilities:- Reports directly to the Assistant Clinical Director in the WTC EHC.
- Performs all staff nurse responsibilities, including making staff assignments and providing briefings for patient care.
- Conducts initial assessments and re-assessments of patients receiving care in the clinic, and assists MDs with examinations.
- Enters data into the Exposure Medical Questionnaire (EMQ) and troubleshoots nursing staff EMQ issues.
- Reviews WTC EHC IRB consenting data and assigns based on incomplete information.
- Supervises medication treatment and diagnostic procedures administered or performed by staff.
- Collaborates with administrative staff to enhance patient flow and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Initiates or delegates assignments for requisitions for ordering of medications and surgical supplies.
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One (1) year of experience as a registered nurse.
