Job Title: Head Nurse-Ophthalmology

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient care and monitor staff performance to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Serve as a resource person to staff members and provide guidance and support to new nursing personnel.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and health education.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest procedures and protocols in ophthalmology and ensure that staff members are trained and competent in these areas.
  • Manage staffing schedules and ensure that the unit is adequately staffed to meet patient needs.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss patient care, address concerns, and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • At least one year of experience as a registered nurse in an ophthalmology setting.
