Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Supervisor to join our team at the University of California San Francisco. As a Medical Assistant Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of medical assistants, ensuring the efficient operation of our ambulatory care services, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of medical assistants, ensuring that patient care is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to medical assistants to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a medical assistant, with at least 6 months of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as healthcare administration or a related field.
  • National certification as a medical assistant, such as CMA or RMA.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capability, with proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages.
