Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Elite School Staffing. As a Head Start Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and high-quality educational environment for program children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Lesson Planning: Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs that include all aspects of the High/Scope daily routine.
  • Documentation: Maintain program documentation on children and families, including progress reports and assessment results.
  • Parent Involvement: Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences, and home visits.
  • Communication: Document and communicate children's progress using the Child Observation Record (COR) and administer, score, and communicate developmental assessment results within 45 days of each child entering the program.
  • Teamwork: Work and communicate effectively as part of a team environment.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare, serve, clean up, and document meals as necessary.
  • Classroom Management: Document any contributions to the classroom (food, money, etc.).
  • Meetings and Functions: Attend meetings and program functions as assigned.
  • Policies and Regulations: Follow all Board of Education and Policy Council policies, local, state, and federal guidelines, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood preferred (or commitment to obtain CDA credential within one year of hire).
  • Experience: Experience working with young children.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to Apply Research and Theoretical Knowledge: Ability to apply current research and theoretical knowledge in a specific field.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form, and perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge, skill, and ability in using MS Office Suite and e-mail.
