We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Operator II to join our Facilities team at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our power plant's thermal systems, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of energy to our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Thermal Systems: Operate high temperature hot water generators, chillers, oil and water pumps, cooling towers, and other thermal systems to ensure proper output temperature and comfort levels for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Monitor and Report Malfunctions: Continuously monitor thermal systems and report any malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Conduct Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning smoke monitor lenses, maintaining chemical testing logs, and backwashing cooling tower filters, to ensure optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other team members, including maintenance staff and energy management specialists, to ensure seamless operation of thermal systems and achieve energy efficiency goals.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- License: Class II Fireman's license required.
- Experience: Knowledge of high temperature hot water systems and chiller operations preferred.
- Full-Time Position: 40 hours per week, rotating shift.
