Job Title: Web SEO Strategist

Southeast Missouri State University is seeking a highly skilled Web SEO Strategist to join our Marketing and Communications team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence, driving organic traffic, and improving our search engine rankings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings
  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for content optimization
  • Write engaging digital content that is SEO-friendly and optimized for target keywords
  • Monitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools and analytics platforms, providing regular reports and insights
  • Perform on-page and off-page optimization, including meta tags, link building, and content recommendations
  • Stay current with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to ensure SEMO remains competitive in search rankings
  • Work with the web team to ensure website structure and technical SEO elements are optimized
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in our SEO strategy
  • Provide SEO training and guidance to internal teams to promote best practices across the organization
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, computer science, writing or a related field
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and SEO best practices with a passion for staying current with industry trends and technologies
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms
  • Superb attention to detail as well as strong written, communications, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
  • Superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and the discipline to deliver projects
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML/CSS
