Business Applications Engineer

The Business Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering effective functional solutions and support for various Business Applications utilized within Taghleef Industries. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of business workflows, user needs, and a thorough knowledge of both commercially acquired and internally developed applications.
This role involves assessing existing processes and proposing enhancements to improve efficiency. The Applications Engineer must also grasp the integration impacts across all functional domains. Furthermore, this position provides secondary leadership for multiple Business Applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Address Tier 2 user system issues by developing expertise in:
- SAP Enterprise Resource Planning
- Honeywell OptiVision Manufacturing Execution System
- SAP Business Warehouse
- SAP Business Objects
- Other tools and applications that support business operations.
Assist the Project Leader in conducting feasibility studies, defining project scopes, and prioritizing deliverables. Create comprehensive Business Requirement documentation in the form of Functional Specifications. Provide analytical support to various functional areas by coordinating reporting and data extraction requirements. Participate in Acceptance Testing and Full Process Testing.
Deliver End User training and take responsibility for the creation of End User and System documentation for applications. Engage effectively in a collaborative team environment while learning and applying Taghleef's development methodologies. Train, support, install, and recommend new software and hardware solutions for end users. Maintain professional communication across all organizational levels. Some after-hours support may be necessary.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Business Applications within a Manufacturing context is preferred. Proficiency in SQL queries and Microsoft Office is advantageous. Preference will be given to candidates with SAP experience, although experience with any ERP system is desired. Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with excellent communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are necessary. This role is primarily office-based, with occasional visits to manufacturing sites. On-call availability may be required for critical network issues and emergencies. Ability to travel up to 15% is expected.
