Job Overview

Orbit Heating and Cooling is a well-established HVAC contractor based in North East Portland, specializing in retrofitting heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in HVAC, relevant education, or a construction background of at least one year. Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical and technical skills.
  • Exhibit a keen interest in learning the trade with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess certifications, which will be rewarded with increased hourly rates as they are obtained.
  • Engage with customers in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Take pride in delivering high-quality work, ensuring no corners are cut.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and be open to constructive feedback from supervisors and peers.
  • Be adaptable and ready to shift tasks as needed throughout the day.
Qualifications
  • Comfortable using HVAC applications and maintaining accurate records in the field.
  • Able to learn to read gauges and perform calculations, with a willingness to master new mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability, with strong time management skills.
  • Own and care for personal hand tools; a tool program is available.
  • Capable of working in various challenging environments, including attics, crawlspaces, and rooftops.
  • Meet physical demands, including lifting heavy equipment (minimum of 75 lbs).
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, ensuring insurability for driving company vehicles.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding smoking and substance use on company property and job sites.
  • Commit to a respectful work environment, free from discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
