Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Services Coordinator to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating scheduling, pre-procedure communication, and medical record documentation, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and input appointments in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring all pre-procedure activities are completed.
  • Manage patient cancellations, center cancellations, and additions to schedule in accordance with center scheduling parameters.
  • Facilitate the admission process by greeting patients and visitors, obtaining patient identification and insurance information, and initiating admissions.
  • Assemble and maintain patient medical records and financial records in a confidential and secure manner.
  • Complete front-end billing process, ensuring all information is entered into the computer registration module.
  • Perform insurance verification and complete prior authorizations or other required processes.
  • Assist with patient transportation, if qualified, in accordance with the Company Transportation Policy.
  • Ensure accuracy when scanning and filing documents, completing within 24 hours of completed visit.
  • Communicate changes to procedure and insurance to internal parties and directly to the patient record.
  • Perform daily encounter checks to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinate collection, processing, maintenance, storage, retrieval, documentation, and distribution of medical records per policy and procedure.
  • Assure documentation of logs of medical record release.
  • Provide information to parties engaged in research or study projects involving patient care and utilization of services in accordance with policy.
  • Oversee materials going in and out of the office, including inventory shipments and deliveries.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; Associate Degree or higher preferred.
  • 1-2 years' related experience, preferably in a medical setting with insurance billing.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to supporting software applications.
Work Environment

The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
