Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at People's Community Clinic. As a key member of our front office team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of patients through our clinic, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week, with a starting hourly rate of $17.50. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding patient experiences, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient flow through the front office, ensuring timely and efficient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting patients promptly and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Manage patient demographics, income, insurance, and sliding fee updates, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Screen patients for financial counseling and communicate effectively with back office support staff and other departments.
  • Monitor wait times and communicate delays to patients and clinical staff, ensuring seamless patient flow.
  • Collect co-pays, reconcile daily cash, and complete check-out processes for patient visits.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and serve as a cashier, collecting payment and setting up payment plans as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a physician's office or healthcare facility
  • Experience with medical billing preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills, ability to interact successfully with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Basic computer literacy, including working with databases and electronic medical records
