Environmental Data Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Environmental Data Scientist to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will play a critical role in growing our data analysis and visualization practices while contributing to challenging environmental projects across multiple industries and market sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Data Management: Lead data management efforts on projects, including preparing analyses and visualizations using GIS applications, and developing and maintaining environmental databases.
- Business Development: Develop niche services, bring in new internal and external clients, and obtain repeat business from existing clients. Lead proposal preparation and develop and implement a business development plan.
- Project Management: Plan and implement technical scope on projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior staff and manage subcontractors.
- Communication: Work plan development, data evaluation, and communicating analyses. Contribute to sections of reports and proposals and author speeches, presentations, technical articles, and correspondence.
- Client Interaction: Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of industry best practices that support the continual improvement of quality and efficiency of information management services to technical staff and project teams.
- Technology Advancement: Find and implement new software platforms and/or internal processes that add value to projects and new capabilities to our technical offering.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geography, computer science, or related field.
- Advanced degree in the same (preferred).
- At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced proficiency in use of accepted technical software, including Earthsoft EQuIS and/or ESRI ArcGIS.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams in the environmental consulting industry.
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of internal and external clients.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
- Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
