School Nurse Position in Lewiston Public Schools

We are seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team at Lewiston Public Schools. As a Substitute School Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing students requiring direct nursing services and developing health care plans accordingly.
Key Responsibilities- Orient yourself with school policies and procedures, as well as relevant state and federal statutes governing school nursing practice.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students with potential health defects and develop strategies for early intervention.
- Administer medication and treatment as prescribed by physicians, maintaining accurate records of student health interventions.
- Maintain liaison with parents, physicians, and staff to ensure seamless communication regarding student health matters.
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Maine and proper Department of Education certification.
- Experience working with handicapped children preferred.
The estimated salary for this role is $156 per day, reflecting the importance of providing high-quality healthcare services to our students.
