Lewiston Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Custodian. This role will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities.
Job Responsibilities:- Maintain a safe and clean environment by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms, classrooms, and other areas of the school.
- Ensure that all custodial equipment and supplies are properly maintained and used efficiently.
- Perform seasonal grounds work including snow removal, lawn care, and upkeep of outdoor spaces.
- Assist in restocking disposable items and providing inventory data to supervisors.
- Provide directions and assistance to visitors and staff members within the building.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in custodial work is preferred.
- The ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, safety rules, and operating procedures is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with students, staff, and the community.
- The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional bending, stooping, or kneeling.
- A competitive salary range of $16.57 per hour.
